GeoEx Foundation

The GeoEx Foundation is the charitable giving arm of Geographic Expeditions, an adventure travel company. Donations to the GeoEx Foundation support the following organizations, chosen because of their effectiveness in supporting the communities visited by Geographic Expeditions' travelers:

Africa

African Parks takes on complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of 22 national parks in 12 countries, in partnership with governments and local communities.

Americas

Tompkins Conservation creates national parks in Chile and Argentina that save and restore wildlands and wildlife, inspire care for the natural world, and generate healthy economic opportunities for local communities.

Asia

American Himalayan Foundation (Stop Girl Trafficking) is dedicated to helping the people and the ecology of the Himalaya, supporting projects that are on a human scale and directly benefit people.
Bhutan Foundation contributes to strategies of conservation of the environment, equitable and sustainable development, good governance, and preservation of culture in Bhutan.

Worldwide

Global Fund for Women is a global champion for the human rights of women and girls. It finds, funds, and amplifies the courageous work of women who are building social movements and challenging the status quo.
Learning AFAR, a partnership between Global Leadership Adventures and AFAR Media, creates a new vision for what's possible in the lives of disadvantaged youth, opening their minds and perspectives by showing them the world.
WildAid is committed to ending the illegal wildlife trade and works to reduce global consumption of wildlife products such as shark fin, elephant ivory, and rhino horn by persuading consumers and strengthening enforcement.

Should you choose to support this organization or project, your contribution will be made to Marin Community Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation that is a tax-exempt public charity under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).

Contributions made via the Donation Center are distributed by MCF to the donor’s intended recipient. In the case of MCF pooled funds, where donations are collected into a single fund and then granted to multiple organizations, MCF receives your donation and distributes the total collected funds to the grantees for that fund. Your contribution may take up to 45 days to be received by MCF and sent to the intended recipient organization. No fees are assessed on any specific donation to or from a fund. The full amount of your contribution to MCF constitutes a charitable contribution that may be tax deductible. Donors should consult their personal tax advisors for any questions regarding tax deductibility based on their personal tax situation.

In some instances, for reasons outside of MCF’s control, a contribution may not reach the intended recipient. This may be due to the intended recipient’s loss of federal or state tax-exempt status or other reasons. In such a case, MCF will select another recipient organization based on its sole discretion.

If you choose to support an organization by visiting their website to donate directly to the organization, Marin Community Foundation does not accept or hold any donation, or receive fees from any donation made directly to another organization.
