The Edward Leaman Charitable Fund is created in memory of Edward Leaman, whose life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the pursuit of meaningfulness. Edward, a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend, lived by a simple yet profound principle: make your life meaningful. He believed that true fulfillment comes from understanding what brings happiness, focusing on creating good for others, and continuously striving to move forward in life with purpose.
Edward’s reflections on life emphasized the importance of personal responsibility, creativity, and the pursuit of one’s passions. His transformative experiences at Cambridge and seven years in Japan, coupled with his teaching roles at institutions such as CCA, Dominican, and Stanford, deeply influenced his belief in the power of learning. He saw education as a vital tool for transformation and nurtured his children’s growth by ensuring they were equipped to succeed without the burden of debt. His dedication to family and personal growth underscored his belief that love and commitment are fundamental to a life well-lived.
Following his unexpected passing on August 1, 2024, we have established this fund as a way to honor his memory and embody his values. The Edward Leaman Charitable Fund will support scholarships and programs that nurture creative education in various fields, including music, fashion, and business design, among others. It will also provide opportunities for educational and volunteer experiences abroad and seek out initiatives that keep families together.
By focusing on smaller organizations and those with limited means, we aim to make a tangible, measurable impact. Our goal is to give people the ability to pursue their passions, find their purpose, and experience a sense of belonging—just as Edward encouraged us to do in his heartfelt guidance. This fund reflects his enduring legacy of love, creativity, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Your contribution may take up to 45 days to be received by MCF and sent to the intended recipient organization. No fees are assessed on any specific donation to or from a fund. The full amount of your contribution to MCF constitutes a charitable contribution that may be tax deductible. Donors should consult their personal tax advisors for any questions regarding tax deductibility based on their personal tax situation.
In some instances, for reasons outside of MCF’s control, a contribution may not reach the intended recipient. This may be due to the intended recipient’s loss of federal or state tax-exempt status or other reasons. In such a case, MCF will select another recipient organization based on its sole discretion.
